Dogs, and Cats

In my post on my other
blog today I showed
a sample of the
ornaments I
am working on for
2018....
and like I have mentioned
before, Dakota loves
to be close to his
mom!

Pic photo bombed by Dakota's
lower half!

 Speaking on needing to be
near his mom...

The other day while we were
doing our walk
around the backyard
trip I sat down in
one of the chairs in the yard.
Dakota, jumped up and sat
on the table between
both chairs!
Thinking the chair might
have been a big
more comfortable but
no, he wanted to be near me!

Back on the deck....

Squirrel watching!
Both the cat and the
rat terrier!

I love that these two
love to be close
to each other.

I mentioned yesterday that I
made Lily a sitting spot
at the other end of the deck.
Here she is trying it out.

She was checking out the
stray cat.

Back a month or so ago I could
not figure out why Lily
would go to the far end (other side)
of the deck and peer through the
slats. Then I realized.

This babe tends to wander
under the neighbors deck and
comes out on my side.
Lily spotted it the other day and
actually followed it from one
end to the other through the slats till
they came out on the other end.

I looked out and saw the babe above
sneaking out from under
my deck.
I spoke and it looked up
and spoke back!

Not sure about this babe. Not sure
if it lives up the street or
if it is indeed a feral cat.
I tried to get close to it the other
day and it ran.
I am saddened to say though that
we have not seen it going on
day 4 now. I hope it is ok.

The furbabes hope you have a great day.

Lily and Dakota and the CHAIR

If you read my blog
Life Through my Eyes
before coming over here
to see what the furbabes have
been up too then you saw the
tour of the deck and
MY CHAIR!

This is what happens each and
every time I leave the deck and
come back.

At least in the last pic Lily gave
me room to sit....

Only to jump down and seem ticked
when I sat down!

We all three have been spending some
nice cooler days and even rain
days on the deck lately.

Even naps!

Morning on the Deck

Dakota's ears are all perked up
as he listens to the trash truck
go up the street.

While Lily watches a bird in the
Crete Myrtle bush.

Later (mins later)
they both chill and relax.

(that is a very large skin tag on Dakota's neck)
I just missed the shot of Lily coming
over to settle down on the dog pillow
when she went straight to Dakota
and touched noses with him.

Love these two,

After A Hard Day

SO TRUE!

While blogging on the deck yesterday
I was having to take time
out to love on Dakota.

And of course when I sat on the couch
yesterday evening he has to
get right up on me!

He loves his mom.

Later however he moves to the other
end of the couch and after
a hard day on the deck they are
both out.

There is something about a cat that
curls her paws to her face to sleep!

Right now its still morning and we, all
3 of us are on the deck again. Being Monday
morning most yards have been cut
so there are no mowers going yet.
Birds are singing and the black birds
are squaking loudly. I have filled up the
feeder and the wrens have been to visit
already this morn..

The furbabes and I hope you have a great
day.

The Laptop and Lily

This is what happens when you walk
off and leave your laptop open!

Looks like she is sticking her tongue
at me too!

Silly Lily!

Dakota and Lily - Sweetness

I have business downtown this morning
so Dakota is going to Granny's for
a play date with her dogs,
Molly, Klohe, and Cheyenne.

I have not told him yet. He will be
so excited. Isn't he so handsome
in his bandanna?

Lily however will be staying home,
in the house.

If I am only going to be gone an
hour or so I leave her on the deck.
This morning however we have had
two neighbor cats under the
deck and I don't want to
chance he ripping a screen to get
off if they return.

This is her yesterday after vegging
on the deck all day.
Worn out.

I love those legs stretched out there in
front of her like that.

Living with Furbabes

NEVER.....
NEVER....
NEVER.....
NEVER.....
in a million years would
I have ever dreamed anything
so sweet taking place with Dakota!

Is this not the most adorable
thing you ever seen?

Dakota sharing his food with Lily.
Dakota gets veggies mixed with his
meal, he saves the peas for last.
The ones Lily leaves anyway!
😋

Cuteness aside lets discuss my nights
with these two.

I understand the cat in Lily and I
was told when I got her from
several cat folks that cats do things
on their own time and schedule.

With that being said, I am not at all
surprised when at 3:30/4:30 am that
Lily wants to be loved and rubbed on.
Not that I am crazy about my sleep
being distrubed but I can almost do
this in my sleep although I would
preferr if she would ask for the loving/
rubbing during the day!

It's this one that I am having issues
understanding.
↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

A little over a year ago, before Lily
he started something strange.
He wants to wake me up at all
hours by walking around me on the
bed. Seriously, over my head, around
my feet, both sides, scratching at me.

At first I thought it was him wanting out,
odd way of telling me cause generally
he jumps off the bed, comes to my
side and straches the matteress where
I am laying to wake me to go out.
He still does that but when he started
the other behavior I just thought maybe
he had been trying to wake me and he was
having a hard time.

But after the first couple of times in
my dozed state of mind I realized
that when he does that stuff, the
walking around me, he don't want
out. I will go downstairs, open the
front door and he runs to the couch.
So, its his way of saying, time to move
downstairs. What I don't get is
why at all hours of the night?

Getting up with him is becoming an
issue not only cause of this, which
thank goodness he don't do everynight.
I understand he is getting older and
the bladder and other parts might
need to get up and go during the
night, it happens to the best of us.

The issue here is when he wants out
at night, I have to go down the stairs
then when he comes in back up them
again. Once is okay, twice I can give a little
on but three FREAK'N times last night!
The 2nd was thirty mins after he came
in the first time. Okay....maybe tummy
troubles, I get it.
What gets me though is, during the
day he is stuck to me like glue.
I leave a room, he is there, I go in
a room, he follows, I go to the deck,
there he goes, I go in the yard and
he is right on my heels. I can't get
him to veg in the yard while I am
on the deck. He will go pee without
me through the day but he does his business
and he is back by my side in a matter of mins.
BUT at night, I sit on the couch waiting
for his return and he is gone forever.
Last night, well, 3:15 this morning,
it was 30 mins after he went out, I was
getting concerned, I put on my shoes
grabbed the flash light and went out,
just as I stepped in the drive, here he
comes. What the hell is he doing, combing
the neighborhood? He don't leave the yard
during the day.

So thanks to him and Lily's night
time rub down my sleep was
a challenge last night, also, I sleep
with a CPAP machine, so on and off
it goes! I see a nap in my future today.

If anyone has any clues on what I can
do to stop Dakota's adventures at night,
please share. Thoughts for tonight....
a Benadryl!

Thanks for checking on the furbabes,
would you like to keep them tonight
so I can sleep!

haha
